While not confirmed, TV Line is reporting that Arrested Development may be making a return to the small screen for one final season. A movie reuniting the cast has been rumored for some time now, ever since the cancellation of the series in 2006, but a return to television is something no one was expecting.

Series creator Mitch Hurtwiz announced Sunday at The New Yorker Festival that he wants to bring Arrested Development back to television for a brief mini-season prior to the show hitting the big screen. Hurwitz’s goal is reportedly to produce 9 to 10 more episodes that each focus on one member of the cast. The goal of this would be to make it easier to shoot given that everyone has moved onto other projects.

Whether this rumor comes to fruition or lingers on in fan debates remains to be seen.
