Smallville's season finale gave us a glimpse of what we've all been waiting for.

OK, so normally I don’t post on weekends, but I just finished watching last night’s Smallville season finale. The scene I was the most excited by didn’t come in the form of a cliffhanger at the end, but instead as the show’s opening scene. Watch first, then we’ll discuss…

The year 2013, the very NEAR future. The activity in the Daily Planet feels a lot more like the series Lois & Clark than Smallville, and that’s a good thing. I’ve been saying for a long time now that Smallville‘s biggest problem is that they refuse to move forward. I don’t care what the producers originally promised (no flying and no costume) and I don’t care that the show is still called Smallville…it’s time for SUPERMAN. They’ll soon be going into a 10th season and it’s finally time to evolve. I can only hope that this isn’t just some elaborate tease, because there would be no point. Oh, and what’s that in the box?? It’s the classic red and blue, baby. Say goodbye to “The Blur” and hello to “The Man of Steel.”
