Everything happens for a reason. Watch the new trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, in theaters next summer.

Sony Pictures has revealed the first trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, a direct followup to 1989’s Ghostbusters 2.

From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film stars Mckenna Grace, with Carrie Coon playing her mother and Finn Wolfhard as her brother. Paul Rudd plays a teacher in the film, with original stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts all expected to return.
