By the end of October 2010, you won't need to pop in that Netflix streaming disc anymore.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings announced during the company’s Q2 2010 financial statement that “Before our next [earnings] call in October, we expect to be launching a major new version of our Sony PS3 user interface which doesn’t require a disc, and is dynamically updated continuously with the latest Netflix UI improvements.”

That’s good news Netflix. It hasn’t been horrible having to pop in the disc to watch anything on the service, but it’s good to know it’ll get easier.
