Adult Swim has announced that Samurai Jack is returning to Cartoon Network as creator and executive producer Genndy Tartakovsky continues the epic story of Jack with a new season that will premiere on Adult Swim’s Toonami block in 2016.

Following the adventures of a time-displaced samurai in his singular quest to travel back in time and defeat the tyrannical demon Aku, Samurai Jack originally ran from 2001 to 2004. The series was then continued in comic books from 2013 to 2015.
