Awesome movie. Enough cannot be said about this film. It needs to be seen on the big screen. Go see it today.

Synopsis via IMDB: “A Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong.”

Written by: Hossein Amini (screenplay), James Sallis (book)

Directed by: Nicolas Windling Refn

Starring:

  • Ryan Gosling- Driver
  • Carey Mulligan- Irene
  • Bryan Cranston- Shannon
  • Albert Brooks- Bernie Rose
  • Oscar Isaac- Standard
  • Ron Perlman- Nino

The Good:

  • Phenomenal acting. Every actor and actress played their part perfectly. Gosling did a great job playing a character torn by his decisions in life and his current state. Perlman was awesome as usual. The entire cast was great.
  • The movie had a good pace to it. Quite a lot of talking but the moments of action were good and very vivid.
  • The music used in the movie was different and quite good.
  • This was a movie in which I could feel the suspense and cared about the outcome of each character.
  • The city of LA was brought to life quite well. Although full of people, the director created a sense of loneliness within it.
  • The movie from start to finish is GREAT!
  • The few moments of violence are intensely real and gory.

The Bad:

  • I would have liked to know more about the Driver’s past.

Final Thought: Awesome movie. Enough cannot be said about this film. It needs to be seen on the big screen. Go see it today.
