SEGA has released this behind the scenes footage from the making of its upcoming third-person action title Thor: God of Thunder.

To help kickoff the start of this year’s WonderCon, and with excitement building around the cinematic release of Paramount Pictures’ highly anticipated Thor on May 6th, SEGA is bringing fans of Marvel’s iconic Norse hero all-new behind the scenes footage from the making of its upcoming third-person action title Thor: God of Thunder.

In this video special, representatives from SEGA, Marvel Entertainment, Liquid Entertainment and Red Fly Studio share their thoughts and various anecdotes on the experience of bringing the all-mighty Odinson to life on gaming platforms. With Thor’s immense power, developers were tasked with overcoming the challenge of properly conveying Thor’s abilities without making him feel overly-powerful. Thor will use the aid of God powers such as wind and lightning to help him take down enemies of massive proportions, not to mention the power his infamous hammer, the mighty Mjölnir.

With a captivating, epic soundtrack composed by Inon Zur and a storyline penned by Marvel scribe Matt Fraction, Thor: God of Thunder will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS on May 3, 2011. A Nintendo 3DS game will be available later in the year.
