ABC has decided to extend the time dedicated to the series finale of LOST by 30 minutes.

According to various sources, ABC has decided to extend the time dedicated to the series finale of LOST by 30 minutes to include all of the crucial material that has been shot. When the LOST finale airs on Sunday, May 23, the episode will run from 9 p.m.-11:30 p.m. The overrun will push back local news, with the previously announced Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost post-finale special now airing at 12:05 a.m.

Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof just completed post-production on the finale on Monday night and both sent out identical tweets: “We’re done. Amen.”

The schedule for the final weekend of LOST now looks like this:

May 22

  • 8 pm – 10 pm: re-run of LOST two-hour pilot with pop-ups

May 23

  • 7 pm – 9 pm: two-hour look back on LOST
  • 9 pm – 11:30 pm: series finale of LOST

May 24

  • 12:05 am: Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost (featuring alternative endings to the show and appearances by the producers)

  • I had very few expectations for the finale, with a sinking feeling it would just be horrible. I guess I was right. After so many years spent on this show, I feel cheated.
