20th Century Fox failed to start development on the project by their deadline.

20th Century Fox was supposed to have a Daredevil reboot in production by October 10th, but it looks as though that’s not happening. As a result, the movie rights for “The Man Without Fear” are now reverting back to Disney/Marvel Studios. Would-be director Joe Carnahan broke the news on Twitter, also saying, “Guys. To clarify. DD pitch was tremendous and everyone flipped for it. The clock ticked down at Fox, that’s why it went tits up.”

He then posted two versions of a video piece that he had pitched to Fox:
