This might have a little something to do with expectation vs. reality. Like Captain America: Civil War, Secret Invasion is named after a well-known storyline from the comics. However, the series never reached the heights of its comic book counterpart, as the tense tale of paranoid espionage we hoped for ended up being a muddled exercise in testing how long viewers would stay tuned before bowing out.

#5 – The Marvels

Hopes were high for the debut of Ms. Marvel on the big screen after the success of her series, and to her credit, Kamala Khan was the bright spot of this movie. Unfortunately, the shortest movie in the MCU ended up feeling rushed, never leaving enough time to properly explore the relationships between Carol and Kamala or Carol and Monica. Pair that with one of the most boring villains from Marvel Studios and you end up with a movie that never reaches its potential.

#4 – Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

When I think of the prior two Ant-Man movies, I think of street level action and humor. Unfortunately, Quantumania throws a wrench in that formula. Sure, there are a decent amount of laughs, but the scale gets much larger, resulting in this entry in the Ant-Man franchise losing a lot of its charm. Kang makes his big debut, which should have been more exciting than it was, reducing the next “big bad” of the MCU to another disposable villain.

#3 – What If…? Season 2

Like the first season of What If…?, there are highs and there are lows, depending on the episode that you’re currently watching. While there are definitely some fun concepts to explore here, What If…? continues to be bogged down by its desire to create a connected plot through a lot of the season. I’d prefer that they ditch the connected plot and start exploring more outlandish ideas.

#2 – Loki Season 2

Season 2 of Loki had a lot to live up to after a stellar first season. While the first half of it dragged a little slower than I cared for, the latter half picked up and concluded with one of the best visuals we’ve ever seen in an MCU project to date. I also can’t talk about Season 2 of Loki without bringing up how great Ouroboros is.

#1 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians 3 is perhaps the only project from 2023 that felt like it delivered on everything that we used to expect from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It honored the journey of a group of characters we’ve grown to love while also making us laugh, cry, and keeping us engaged with its many needle drops and action sequences. It even had one of the most interesting antagonists in the MCU that we’ve seen in awhile. More of this please, Marvel.

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. Marvel’s Netflix shows move to Disney+ in the US on March 16^th

Disney+ has confirmed that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, The Punisher, and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will become available to stream on the service starting March 16^th.

According to Disney, when opening the service for the first time after that date, all subscribers in the U.S. will be prompted to update their Parental Controls. This includes the option to select content rating restrictions for each profile as well as to add a PIN to lock profiles. Those that choose to keep their settings the same will continue to enjoy Disney+ as they always have within a TV-14 content rating environment, with the option to make changes at any time.

John DiMaggio WILL return for Futurama revival

Good news everyone!

Three weeks after the announcement that Hulu’s Futurama revival would possibly return without the original voice of Bender, it’s now been confirmed that John DiMaggio has closed a deal to reprise the role of the foul-mouthed robot.

DiMaggio said in a statement: “So damn grateful for the love and support of fans and colleagues alike during this whole time (especially my wife, Kate), and I cannot wait to get back to work with my Futurama family. #Bendergate is officially over, so put it on the back of a shelf behind Xmas decorations, or maybe in that kitchen drawer with all of the other crap you put in there like old unusable crazy glue, or maybe even put it in a jar you save farts in. Whatever floats your boat, I don’t care, you get the picture. I’M BACK, BABY! BITE MY SHINY METAL ASS!”

Chris Hemsworth reportedly playing the villain in Furiosa prequel

While it’s been known that Chris Hemsworth would play a role in the upcoming Furiosa prequel, new reports are suggesting that he’ll portray the film’s villain.

A recent episode of the podcast Blank Check with Griffin and David featured author Kyle Buchanan, who wrote the book Blood, Sweat, & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road. During the episode they briefly discussed the progress of Furiosa, which has been experiencing major delays since it was announced in 2015. Buchanan dropped a tidbit saying that “They have Chris Hemsworth as the villain, who I heard was called Dr. Dementus.”

The news has not yet been confirmed by the production. If true, this will have Hemsworth facing off against Anya-Taylor Joy, who will play the film’s titular protagonist.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet head to Switch in late 2022

The Pokemon Company has announced two new mainline titles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which are expected to launch sometime in late 2022. Developer Game Freak said the games would offer an “open-world adventure” for players to discover.

They also revealed the three starter Pokemon: Sprigatito, the capricious, attention-seeking grass cat Pokemon, Fuecoco, the laid-back fire croc Pokemon that does things at its own pace, and Quaxly, the earnest and tidy duckling Pokemon.

Ariana DeBose joins Sony’s Kraven the Hunter

Ariana DeBose has joined the cast of Sony’s Kraven the Hunter movie, which is set to star Aaron Taylor Johnson in the titular role. While unconfirmed, sources say that DeBose will play Calypso. Calypso is a voodoo priestess who utilizes magic potions as well as being an occasional partner and lover of Kraven.

The film is set to be released theatrically on January 13, 2023.

Netflix’s Marvel series are leaving the streamer as rights revert to Disney

Netflix’s Marvel series, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher, Iron Fist, and The Defenders, are leaving the streamer on March 1^st.

Netflix’s license for the shows is expiring, with the rights now reverting to Disney. The company hasn’t revealed where the shows will end up just yet, but even with the more mature take on its characters, it seems likely that Disney+ is the logical destination.

In addition to Disney regaining control of the existing episodes of each series, Kevin Feige has indicated that there is a possibility to revive or reboot some of the shows.

Hulu orders a Futurama revival with most of the cast returning

After months of negotiations, Hulu has finalized a deal for 20 new episodes of the cult animated sci-fi comedy Futurama, set to premiere in 2023. In addition to original creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen returning, the majority of the voice cast is also set to come back, including Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, and David Herman.

Missing from the list is John DiMaggio, who voices the robot Bender among half a dozen other characters. The role is currently being recast ahead of the first table read. The decision was made after DiMaggio’s negotiations with the studio came to a standstill, though there is a desire on both sides to have him rejoin the cast and reprise his role.

For Futurama, whose 20 new episodes are expected to run in two batches, this marks the third revival. Previously, it was revived for 4 direct-to-DVD movies, and then at Comedy Central for an additional three years.

Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series will premiere in May

Disney has revealed that its limited-run series Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on May 25^th.

The series is set 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, which saw Ewan McGregor’s Jedi knight Kenobi go into hiding after the fall of the Galactic Republic. Hayden Christensen is also set to return to play Darth Vader.

The Wolf Among Us 2 arrives in 2023

The revived Telltale Games team has announced that its long-awaited sequel to The Wolf Among Us will arrive in 2023. The Wolf Among Us 2 is set six months after the first season, and promises plenty of drama when a new case for Bigby Wolf gets the NYPD involved.

In 2019, LCG Entertainment resurrected Telltale after the studio’s collapse the year prior and revitalized the project. AdHoc studio is now developing the project, which is made up of previous Telltale employees, including those who worked on the original game. The studio has confirmed that the new game will make use of the Unreal engine as opposed to the engine previously used for the series.

Uncharted’s Nathan Drake is coming to Fortnite

Uncharted’s Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer are making their way to Fortnite. Even before Epic Games was able to make the announcement, the community solved the riddle and revealed the crossover trailer.

The Uncharted collaboration launches on February 17^th, one day before the Uncharted film premieres in theaters. A new in-game item, Drake’s Map, will come to the game the following morning. These act like the Chapter 1 treasure maps, leading players on a hunt for buried “treasure,” or loot for your inventory.

The Nathan and Chloe skins will allow you to play as either the film versions of those characters or their Uncharted 4 counterparts.

Bandai Namco is making a My Hero Academia battle royale

Bandai Namco has revealed that they’re making a new free-to-play battle royale game titled My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble, based on the popular manga and anime.

The game, which will support up to 24 players in a single match, doesn’t have a release date yet, but it will come to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Bandai Namco plans to hold a closed beta sometime in the future.

Mike Judge teases new Beavis and Butt-Head movie

Mike Judge has announced via Twitter that Beavis and Butt-Head will be returning with a brand-new movie and more on Paramount+. The creator of the comedic duo also shared a few sketches of the pair as older men, while confirming that although there’s no exact release date yet, it’ll be coming sometime this year.

Laura Donnelly joins the cast of Marvel’s Halloween special

Laura Donnelly has joined the cast of Marvel’s Halloween special for Disney+. She joins the previously announced Gael Garcia Bernal, who is rumored to be playing Werewolf by Night.

While Donnelly’s role has also not been confirmed, Deadline is speculating that if Bernal is playing Werewolf by Night, she could potentially be playing Nina Price, who becomes Vampire by Night. Price is the niece of one of Marvel’s incarnations of Werewolf by Night, and a vampire/werewolf hybrid. She carried the lycan gene and was changed further after being bitten by a vampire.

Pixar’s Turning Red will now premiere on Disney+

Turning Red, Pixar’s latest feature film, will premiere exclusively on Disney+. Disney had planned to debut the movie in theaters, but likely due to the recent pandemic surge in cases, that won’t happen. The release date will remain the same, with the film set to debut on March 11^th as originally planned.

Turning Red tells the story of Mei Lee, a teen who finds out she turns into a red panda when she gets too excited. Naturally, all sorts of hijinks ensue as a result.

Superman and Lois showrunner confirms that Doomsday is coming

Spoiler warning if you haven’t seen the Season 2 premiere of Superman and Lois.

Toward the end of the Season 2 opener of the CW drama Superman and Lois, Smallville is rocked by an earthquake originating from the mines. While Clark is too busy with other matters to investigate, we see that the tremors were caused by a gloved fist punching up through the ground deep below.

Superman and Lois showrunner Todd Helbing has confirmed that the scene is indeed setting up the arrival of Doomsday, one of Superman’s deadliest foes. Helbing add, “That is our homage to a classic Doomsday cover. In episode 2, you’re going to see him a little bit more. In episode 3, you’ll get the full reveal.”

As to how the show will be approaching the character, Helbing said, “There’s so much lore and mythology in the Superman universe that we feel it’s our obligation to tell a unique story. We take inspirations from the comics as much as possible, and then we try to twist it. We did the same thing here.”

Sony and Marvel actively developing Spider-Man 4

In a new interview with The New York Times, Marvel’s Kevin Feige and Sony producer Amy Pascal confirmed that development on a potential Spider-Man 4 has already begun.

While Pascal previously announced that another Spider-Man trilogy was on the way, those statements have been reported to be premature. However, at least a 4^th movie is looking more and more likely.

Feige said, “Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about – yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next. Which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after Far From Home. That will not be occurring this time.”

The separation trauma Feige refers to was the previous end of the partnership between Sony and Marvel that was eventually renewed. It looks as though the two studios don’t plan on ending that partnership anytime soon.

DC’s Blue Beetle movie shifts premiere plans from HBO Max to theaters

Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Blue Beetle movie is shifting its premiere plans. While originally being developed for HBO Max, the film will now get a theatrical release on August 18^th, 2023.

Blue Beetle will star Cobra Kai’s Xolo Mariduena as the Jaime Reyes version of the hero, who gains superpowers when he encounters alien armor. It was one of a number of DC films being developed for streaming, which include Batgirl, Zatanna, Static Shock, and Black Canary. The move suggests that the studio has gained more confidence in Blue Beetle’s ability to perform well at the box office.

Splinter Cell remake in development

Ubisoft has greenlit the development of a Splinter Cell remake. Led by Ubisoft Toronto, the game will be rebuilt from the ground up using their Snowdrop engine to deliver new-generation visuals and gameplay, and the dynamic lighting and shadows the series is known for.

Unlike Ubisoft’s signature open-world spaces, you’ll play in small, linear environments. The company wants to meet present-day gameplay expectations, but is also aware that the original Splinter Cell was appealing because it rewarded stealth players who demonstrated patience and planning.

The game’s creative director characterized this remake as a solid base for the future of the franchise, meaning that if you aren’t thrilled about the thought of a remake, this could lead to true sequels moving forward.

Mega Man movie in the works at Netflix

IGN is reporting that Mega Man will soon be coming to Netflix in a live-action adaptation of the classic Capcom video game franchise.

The project, which has yet to be confirmed by Netflix, is reportedly still very early in development. IGN is basing their news on the fact that the film’s production company let the information slip about the partnership during a recent website update.

A live-action Mega Man movie for 20^th Century Fox was first announced back in 2018 just days after the release of Mega Man 11, so the claims aren’t completely unwarranted.

Gotham Knights series in development for The CW

The CW is looking to expand its DC universe, as three writers from Batwoman are working with the network to develop a Gotham Knights series. However, the project is not a Batwoman spinoff, nor is it linked to the upcoming video game of the same name.

The logline for Gotham Knights reads, “In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors.”

Star Wars: Ahsoka casts Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren

Sources have confirmed to Variety that Natasha Liu Bordizzo has been cast as Sabine Wren for the Disney+ series Star Wars: Ahsoka.

Wren was first introduced to the Star Wars universe in the animated series Star Wars Rebels. She is a young Mandalorian and a weapons expert, particularly when it comes to explosives. She is also known for her love of graffiti and is a dropout of the Imperial Academy of Mandalore. After the fall of the Empire, Wren and Tano struck out in search of their missing friend, Ezra Bridger.

Scarlett Johansson is producing a “top secret” movie for Marvel

Kevin Feige has revealed that Scarlett Johansson is producing a “top secret Marvel Studios project.” He also confirmed that the movie in question would not be related to Black Widow.

Feige said, “Scarlett has lent her talent and star power to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade. That she’s chosen to play a key part in it for so many years, I am extremely grateful for. Working with her has truly been one of the most memorable and rewarding collaborations of my career.”

Feige didn’t share any additional details about Johansson’s next MCU project, but presumably, it’s a film that hasn’t been announced yet.

Netflix’s Arcane gets renewal for second season

Riot Games’ League of Legends animated series Arcane has been officially renewed for a second season at Netflix. Stars Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell, and Katie Leung are set to reprise their roles for season two, which is currently in production.

Arcane follows the origins of popular League champions sisters Jinx and Vi as they seek to reunite. Overcoming the world of Arcane is a dark power that brings on violence and chaos, and threatens to keep the sisters apart.

All the Marvel shows from Disney+ Day 2021

Disney+ unleashed a huge amount of Marvel news for Disney+ Day, providing updates on 12 different shows.

Here’s the rundown:

Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector, a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt. Moon Knight will debut next year.

She-Hulk, starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases. The show will welcome a host of Marvel characters to the series, including Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Tim Roth’s Abomination. She-Hulk will arrive in 2022.

Ms. Marvel, starring Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, a 16-year old Pakistani American from Jersey City. Kamala is an aspiring artist, an avid gamer, and a huge fan of the Avengers, Captain Marvel in particular. She’s always struggled to find her place in the world, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Ms. Marvel will premiere in the summer of 2022.

Echo, starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, is a live-action spinoff of the upcoming Hawkeye series.

Ironheart, starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.

Agatha: House of Harkness, starring Kathryn Hahn returning as her character from WandaVision.

Secret Invasion, a series starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos, who met one another in Captain Marvel.

Season 2 of Marvel’s What If… ?, in which The Watcher returns to meet new heroes and explore more strange new worlds in the MCU’s multiverse.

Marvel Zombies, an animated series that reimagines the Marvel Universe as a new generation of heroes battle against an ever-spreading zombie scourge.

I Am Groot, a series of original shorts exploring Baby Groot’s glory days growing up, and getting into trouble, among the stars.

X-Men ’97, an animated series that explores new stories in the iconic ‘90s timeline of the original series.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year, an animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.

Baymax! series get first trailer

Disney has revealed that a new Big Hero 6 spinoff show titled Baymax! will be coming to Disney Plus in Summer 2022.

Alongside the reveal, Disney also shared a short teaser for the series, which shows off Baymax as he attempts to save the world, one patient at a time. While little has been revealed about the show’s plot, it seems as if it will follow the character as he attempts to help ordinary citizens to better their lives across the city of San Fransokyo.

From slowly attempting to master the skills of a coffee shop barista to delivering a lengthy speech on the applications of band-aids to a group of school children it seems that Baymax might have his work cut out for him.

Boba Fett arrives in Fortnite on December 24^th

Epic Games has announced that the bounty hunter Boba Fett will arrive in Fortnite on December 24^th, the weekend before The Book of Boba Fett debuts on Disney+. Epic hasn’t said much more about the crossover, but judging by the teaser art the studio shared, Fett’s partner Fennec Shand will also make an appearance.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron movie delayed

Rogue Squadron, the Star Wars feature project due to be directed by Wonder Woman filmmaker Patty Jenkins, has been delayed.

Jenkins and writer Matthew Robinson have been developing the movie for Lucasfilm for over a year, with the goal of starting production in 2022. However, sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that the producers and filmmaking team came to the realization that Jenkins’ schedule and other commitments wouldn’t allow for the window needed to make the movie within that timeframe.

As a result, Rogue Squadron has been taken off the production schedule. The hope is that once Jenkins’ fulfills her previous commitments, she’ll be able to return to the project.

Disney+ will allow you to watch 13 Marvel films in IMAX format

Disney+ has announced that it’s adding an expanded IMAX aspect ratio for 13 Marvel titles on November 12^th, the company’s advertised Disney+ Day. The IMAX aspect ratio will look up to 26% taller than the typical widescreen format, so the horizontal black bars will almost disappear during scenes shot in IMAX.

The new feature, being referred to as IMAX Enhanced, isn’t delivering the large film format’s true aspect ratio, which is more square. But, as evidenced by Zack Snyder’s Justice League, this version will make better use of your screen’s viewable space.

New Among Us update includes a store, achievements, and roles

Among Us has released a hefty update that includes new roles for Crewmates, achievements, and a storefront with cosmetics.

The new storefront is full of hats, skins, pets, visors, nameplate panels, and bundles that include multiple cosmetics. Playing the game gives players XP, pods, and beans. Beans are free-to-play currency that unlock store items, but players can also spend real money on stars for immediate unlocks.

Cosmicubes, which are branching cosmetic trees, can be purchased with beans or stars, and the contents within can be unlocked by using pods that are earned through gameplay.

New roles were revealed including the previously announced alien Shapeshifter who can disguise themselves as Crewmates. Crewmate roles include the Scientist, who can check on crew vitals at any time, the Engineer who can use vents, and the Guardian Angel, which is a dead crewmate who can save allies from getting one-hit killed by Impostors. These roles can be customized in the settings or disabled for those who don’t like them.

Konami pulls Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 from digital stores

Konami is removing Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 from digital storefronts for the time being due to licensing issues, making them no longer available to purchase at this time. The publisher said it’s working on renewing the licenses for select historical archive footage used in-game. Along with the individual games, Konami is also pulling bundles that include either game.

It’s unclear when both games will return to stores, or whether Konami will keep the footage in question, but the company has called the removals a temporary decision and said it will work towards making these products available for purchase once again.

Gael Garcia Bernal cast as Werewolf by Night for Marvel’s Disney+ Halloween special

Golden Globe winning actor Gael Garcia Bernal has been set to lead the cast of Marvel’s werewolf-focused Halloween special that will air on Disney+.

While details about the project are being kept strictly under wraps, individuals with knowledge say the character may be based on Werewolf by Night, a name used by two separate Marvel characters.

Daniel Dae Kim cast as Fire Lord Ozai in Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender

Daniel Dae Kim has joined the cast of Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series.

Kim will play Fire Lord Ozai, the ruthlessly driven leader of the Fire Nation who demands that everyone live up to his impossible standards, especially his teenage son, Prince Zuko. Ozai’s drive to conquer and unite the world under firebender rule is a family burden – he believes that it’s his destiny to finish a war started by his ancestors.

Kim is no stranger to the Avatar franchise, as he provided the voice of General Fong in the series and video game, as well as Hiroshi Sato on The Legend of Korra.

Gal Gadot to play the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action Snow White

According to Deadline, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is in final negotiations to play the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Snow White.

Rachel Zegler is set to play the titular character, with Marc Webb directing.

While casting for Snow White was long and thorough, studio execs always had their eye on Gadot for the role that started it all when it comes to classic Disney villains. Gadot was also intrigued at the opportunity of joining stars like Angelina Jolie and Cate Blanchett, who previously played iconic villains from the Disney vault. After scheduling was worked out, a deal closed this week.

Just in case you were running out of ways to play Skyrim, Modiphius Entertainment has announced that they’re working on The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – The Adventure Game. This new version of Skyrim is a tabletop board game that will allow you to revisit Tamriel’s frozen north as an agent of the Imperial Blades. You can play either by yourself or with up to three other friends.

The narrative-driven game will ship with two campaigns made up of three chapters. Modiphius says each one should take about 90 to 120 minutes to complete. Provided you don’t get distracted by side quests and exploration, you can expect your initial playthrough to take about 12 hours, in which you can “save” your progress at any point and pick up where you left off. With a deck of about 600 cards, no two sessions should play out exactly the same.

While the physical edition is the company’s focus, Skyrim – The Adventure Game will have a demo version coming soon to Tabletop Simulator on PC.

Amy Hennig’s new studio is making a game with Marvel

Skydance New Media, the game development studio headed by former Uncharted creative director Amy Hennig, will partner with Marvel Entertainment to produce a new video game.

The upcoming title will be a narrative-driven, action-adventure game, featuring a completely original story and take on the Marvel Universe. The companies did not announce which Marvel characters would be featured in the game, nor a release date or platforms for the project.

Hennig said of the project, “I can’t imagine a better partner than Marvel for our first game. The Marvel Universe epitomizes all the action, mystery, and thrills of the pulp adventure genre that I adore and lends itself perfectly to an interactive experience. It’s an honor to be able to tell an original story with all the humanity, complexity, and humor that makes Marvel characters so enduring and to enable our players to embody these heroes that they love.”

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is coming to VR on Oculus Quest 2

One of the most-loved entries in Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series is coming to VR. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that a version of 2004’s GTA: San Andreas is in development for the company’s Quest 2 VR headset.

As stated by Zuckerberg, “This new version of what I think is one of the greatest games ever made will offer players an entirely new way to experience this iconic open world in virtual reality.”

No other details, like price, a release date, or game footage have been revealed, but many outlets are comparing the effort to the recently released and surprisingly successful VR adaptation of Capcom’s Resident Evil 4.

Bill Murray implies that he’ll play a part in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Bill Murray is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an unknown role. In a recent interview with a German outlet, Murray said, “You know, recently I made a Marvel movie. I probably won’t tell you, but never mind. In any case, some people were quite surprised why I decided on such a project. But for me the thing was quite clear: I got to know the director – and really liked him very much. He was funny, humble, everything you want from a director. And with the cheerleader story Bring It On he made years ago, which I think is damn good. So I agreed, although I’m not interested in these huge comic book adaptations as an actor otherwise.”

While Murray never confirmed the specific movie he worked on, the logical connection is Peyton Reed, the director of both his cheerleading movie Bring It On, and Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Dune: Part Two announced for 2023

Legendary Pictures has confirmed plans to release Dune: Part Two, by tweeting out “This is only the beginning… Thank you to those who have experienced Dune so far, and those who are going in the days and weeks ahead. We’re excited to continue the journey!”

The studio expects the movie to premiere on October 20^th, 2023, with director, producer, and co-screenwriter Denis Villeneuve returning.

Brendan Fraser to play villain in Warner Bros. upcoming Batgirl movie

Brendan Fraser is set to join Leslie Grace in Warner Bros. and DC Films’ upcoming Batgirl movie. While not confirmed, sources told Deadline that they believe Fraser will play the supervillain Firefly.

The film is set for release on HBO Max, marking one of the first major DC properties to debut exclusively on the streamer, though a specific release date has not yet been announced.

Sony sets 2023 release dates for two new Marvel movies

Sony continues to plot the future of their Marvel universe, as the studio has confirmed 2023 release dates for two mystery Marvel projects. The unnamed films are scheduled to hit theaters on June 23 and October 6 of 2023. It’s likely that one of these films will be Venom 3, but at this point that’s purely speculation.

Sony is currently set to release Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17^th, Morbius on January 28, 2022, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 on October 7, 2022.

Ryan Gosling cast as Ken in upcoming Barbie film

Deadline is reporting that Ryan Gosling will be playing Ken in Warner Bros.’ upcoming Barbie movie, starring opposite Margot Robbie.

Given his busy schedule, Gosling initially passed on playing the part, but insiders add that as pre-production time increased and the studio remained persistent with him being their only choice, an opening in his schedule appeared, allowing him to sign on.

Plot details are unknown at this time, but given director Greta Gerwig’s track record, one can expect that this won’t be your typical take on the doll’s story.

Russell T Davies to return as Doctor Who showrunner

BBC has announced that Russell T Davies will make his return to Doctor Who for its upcoming 60^th Anniversary in 2023. The announcement comes after it was confirmed last July that current showrunner Chris Chibnall will be leaving the series after the upcoming thirteenth season and three 2022 specials.

Responsible for Doctor Who’s revival in 2005, he is credited with propelling the show into a global phenomenon and making it one of TV’s biggest hits. His tenure on the show oversaw a surge in popularity enjoying huge acclaim and success, enough to lead to two spin-off series, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures during that time.

The Witcher Season 3 and more spin-offs announced

Netflix has announced that their world of The Witcher is expanding. At their Tudum event, they announced a third season of the hit series is on the way. Additionally, a second anime feature is coming, and a kids and family series is in the works.

So far, no specific details have been revealed for any of those upcoming projects, but Season 2 of The Witcher is set to premiere on December 17th.

Marvel seeking legal action to maintain rights to some of its key characters

Marvel is currently suing to maintain full control of Avengers characters including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Falcon, Thor, and others. The new lawsuits are directed at the heirs of their creators, including Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and Gene Colan.

Under current U.S. laws, the author of a given work (or their heirs) can usually reclaim the rights to that work for themselves after a certain period of time. However, Marvel is seeking declaratory relief, claiming that because these characters were created as works for hire, they are ineligible for copyright termination. The work-for-hire defense has been Marvel’s go-to strategy in the past, most notably in cases against Jack Kirby and his family.

If Marvel loses, Disney would have to share ownership of characters worth billions. Ultimately, this isn’t a threat to having any of Marvel’s characters taken away from them, simply that they would share ownership and profits with those characters’ creators.

Marvel’s Hit-Monkey series will premiere in November

Over two years ago, Marvel TV announced a deal to bring Hit-Monkey, M.O.D.O.K., and two other animated series to Hulu. However, Howard the Duck, and the Tigra and Dazzler animated series were cancelled while in development. Hit-Monkey survived the axe however, and will soon join M.O.D.O.K. on Hulu, debuting on November 17th.

In the series, which takes some liberties with the character’s origin, the Japanese snow macaque destined to become Hit-Monkey lives peacefully until he encounters a wounded hitman named Bryce. After nursing Bryce back to health, Hit-Monkey is unable to prevent his demise. Therefore, Hit-Monkey decides to become an assassin, while Bryce’s ghost remains in this world to advise him.

THQ Nordic announces SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake video game

SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star will stumble through a Rick and Morty-esque multiverse in an upcoming adventure game, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. Announced by developer THQ Nordic, the game is coming soon to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

The game follows SpongeBob and Patrick after the two unintentionally open up portals to other universes. In the game, you’ll be able explore seven different worlds and dress your characters up with 30 skins.

Netflix’s nonlinear heist series Jigsaw casts Giancarlo Esposito in lead role

Netflix has officially given a series order to a brand-new heist drama series titled Jigsaw, which is being described as an innovative and suspenseful crime thriller. The series is developed to take a nonlinear approach to storytelling, allowing viewers to watch the first seven episodes in any order leading up to the finale.

Emmy-nominated actor Giancarlo Esposito has signed on for the leading role of Leo Pap. He joins a cast of Paz Vega, Rufus Sewell, and Jai Courtney, among others. Esposito will play a veteran thief who can’t stay away from a life of crime.

Jigsaw is loosely based on a real story in which $70 billion in Wall Street bonds were at risk due to flood waters caused by Hurricane Sandy. The story spans 25 years, from decades before the heist to a year afterward.

Two untitled Marvel films get 2024 release dates

Disney recently updated its release calendar, which now includes dates for two currently unannounced Marvel Studios films.

The two new dates, July 26 and November 8, mean that Marvel Studios is currently planning on releasing four films in 2024, with dates in February and May already having been confirmed earlier in the year. Currently, it’s unknown what the films will be, as Marvel has only announced which films will be releasing up until Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on May 5, 2023.

The inclusion of the two new dates now leaves Marvel Studios with seven release dates for unknown films, ranging from July 2023 all the way until November 2024. With films like Captain America 4, Blade, Fantastic Four, and many others currently in early development, it’s likely that we’ll see some of these highly anticipated films land on those dates, although we’ll have to wait for more information before anything becomes official.

Grand Theft Auto V heads to PlayStation 5 in March 2022

Nearly a decade after its initial release on the seventh generation of consoles, Grand Theft Auto V will come out on PlayStation 5 in March 2022.

Players can expect a range of technical and graphical improvements across the entire experience as well as seamless character switching between its three protagonists. At launch, it will also come with the game’s immensely popular GTA Online multiplayer component included for free.

Uncharted 4 and Uncharted Lost Legacy are coming to PS5 and PC

Sony is remastering both 2016’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and 2017’s Uncharted: Lost Legacy for the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. The collection is coming to both the PS5 and PC, though no solid date was given with Sony simply stating that the PS5 version was coming in early 2022 and the PC port will follow after.

This will be the first time the series will be on PC and marks yet another first-party title Sony is putting on the platform following the likes of Death Stranding, Days Gone, and Horizon Zero Dawn.

Bob’s Burgers: The Movie gets 2022 release date

Disney has announced that Bob’s Burgers: The Movie will now release on May 27, 2022. In 2017, it was announced that Bob’s Burgers: The Movie would release in July 2020. However, the film came to an abrupt halt amid the coronavirus pandemic and the film’s release date was shuffled around, ultimately leading to the movie being pulled from Disney’s release slate.

The film features the cast of the hit television show returning as H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, Kristen Schaal, Larry Murphy, and Sam Seder will all reprise their respective roles. Plot details are currently unknown.

Manifest Season 4 ordered by Netflix

Manifest has officially been saved by Netflix. After weeks of negotiations, the streamer has closed a deal for a super-sized fourth and final season of the missing plane drama. In a nod to Manifest’s fans and Flight 828, the announcement of the Season 4 pickup was made on August 28^th, or “828 Day” at 8:28 AM pacific time.

The final season of Manifest will be comprised of 20 episodes. As is customary for series on Netflix, the season will be split into multiple parts.

The pickup by Netflix will give fans answers after the cancellation by NBC made for a premature ending, leaving unanswered questions and unresolved Season 3 finale cliffhangers for the series, which had been originally conceived by creator Jeff Rake for a six-season run. That plan will now be condensed to bring the story of the passengers of Flight 828 to a proper conclusion in four seasons. The 20-episode pickup will help toward that goal as it represents Manifest‘s largest season order.

Marvel is developing a Halloween special for Disney+

According to The Wrap, Marvel Studios is actively searching for a Latino actor to lead the cast of an as-yet untitled Halloween Special that will air on Disney+.

Individuals with knowledge say the character may be based on “Werewolf by Night,” the name used by two separate Marvel characters.

The first, Jack Russell, is a descendant of the mystically-altered offshoot of humans known as Lycanthropes, who eventually becomes capable of transforming on his own volition even without a full moon, and retaining his intellect while transformed. Among other things, that series is notable for having the first appearance of Moon Knight, a character whose own Disney+ series will stream in 2022.

The second, Jake Gomez, is a member of a Native American tribe whose family has been cursed with lycanthropy, when he comes in conflict with a nefarious pharmaceutical company exploiting members of the tribe.

It’s not clear which, if either, version of Werewolf by Night will serve as inspiration for the TV special.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will arrive in Spring 2022

A new trailer has been released for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and with it, a release window announcement of Spring 2022.

The game adapts all nine entries in the Skywalker saga, with the trailer including a bunch of nods to famous scenes from the Star Wars movies. Along with X-wing battles and lightsaber duels with the likes of Darth Vader and Darth Maul, you’ll see moments like Rey flipping over Kylo Ren’s TIE fighter. The game includes 20 unlockable planets you can travel between and more than 300 playable characters.

This is the first game in the Lego Star Wars series since 2016, when TT Games released Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It marks the first time that the studio has adapted The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. Warner Bros. initially planned to release Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in 2020, and then in Spring 2021, but TT Games needed more time to finish it.

Sony rebrands their Marvel movies as Sony’s Spider-Man Universe

Plans have been in place for awhile to tie all of Sony’s comic book properties together, and in May of last year it was announced that the franchise would be known as the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters, which isn’t really a catchy or efficient title. The studio has now announced an official rebrand for the effort titled Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.

Sony’s current deal with Marvel Studios only includes Spider-Man: No Way Home and one MCU film to be named later. Regardless, it’s possible that Sony’s MCU contract could still be renewed for additional movies. Holland’s contract with Sony and Marvel expires after No Way Home, so it’s likely that the next batch of negotiations will result in the actor jumping between the MCU and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, given that his character’s name is right in the branding.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is currently only one movie old, with Venom the sole effort that’s managed to hit theaters so far. Venom: Let There Be Carnage will mark the second installment, while Jared Leto’s Morbius will premiere on January 28 next year, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven the Hunter coming on January 13, 2023.

Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop gets first look images and premiere date

Netflix has revealed the first look images of John Cho and the rest of the main cast for their upcoming adaptation of Cowboy Bebop, as well as announcing a premiere date of Friday, November 19^th.

Based on Shinichir? Watanabe’s cult anime series, Cowboy Bebop follows a group of misfit bounty hunters, led by Spike Spiegel as they search for the galaxy’s most valuable criminals. Mustafa Shakir also stars as Spike’s trusted co-pilot Jet Black and Daniella Pineda as the highly-skilled bounty hunter Faye Valentine.

Netflix’s images also reveal the Bebop in its mechanical glory, as well as Ein, the experiment-turned-pet Corgi.

Brandon Routh will star in the Magic: The Gathering series

Netflix’s animated Magic: The Gathering series is running full-steam ahead. Set to premiere in late 2022, Brandon Routh has been announced to lead the voice cast.

Picked up straight to series in June 2019, the show unites familiar and well-loved Planeswalkers for Magic fans and introduces new characters to tell a new story. Routh will voice the role of Gideon, an unfalteringly heroic Planeswalker in the Magic: The Gathering multiverse.

Cast revealed for Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series

Nearly three years since the project was first announced, Netflix has finally revealed the main cast for the live-action series adaptation of Nickelodeon’s beloved animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender.

After the surprising exit of original creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko last year, many fans have become very doubtful if Netflix would be able to deliver and give justice to the live-action adaptation they’ve been hoping for. Despite this major setback, it looks like the streamer remains committed in keeping its promise of providing a culturally appropriate adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender by officially enlisting a group of diverse young actors.

Leading the series is 11-year-old Gordon Cormier, who has been tapped to take on the role of Aang. Joining him are Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, and Dallas Liu who have been cast for the respective roles of Katara, Sokka, and Zuko.

Marvel Studios planning multiple new animated series

Marvel’s What If…? marks the MCU’s first foray into animation, but far from its last. Executive producer Brad Winderbaum has told Variety that multiple animated series are in various phases of development for Disney Plus, in addition to a second season of What If…? and a series of photo-real animated shorts centered on Baby Groot that are both already in production.

Winderbaum says the company was driven by the creative freedom demanded by What If…? – that staging new versions of major action sequences from just about every movie within the MCU was only possible through animation.

He went on to say, “We realized that there’s a lot of cool avenues you can explore with animation. Any project that we create is going to be something that needs to be animated in order for the story to be told. There’s very little desire to take a piece of IP that’s popular because we’re coming out with a movie and just make an animated show about it. We’re not going to do that.”

Animation’s long production process means the new shows likely won’t start hitting the MCU’s crowded slate until 2023 at the earliest. But Winderbaum did confirm they will involve original ideas that draw from titles and characters already explored in live action as well as previously untapped sources from the Marvel comics library. And yes, like the rest of the MCU, they will all be connected.

Superman: The Animated Series remaster is coming to Blu-Ray this Fall

Next month will mark the 25th anniversary of Superman: The Animated Series. To celebrate, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and DC are releasing the complete series on Blu-Ray, which will feature remastered versions of all 54 episodes.

In addition, the collection will include several hours of bonus features headlined by an all-new featurette entitled Superman: Timeless Icon, which details the creation of one of the most beloved animated superheroes in history. It will also feature audio commentary for the episodes Stolen Memories, The Last Son of Krypton – Part 1, and The Main Man – Part 2.

Superman: The Complete Animated Series collection will be available as a Blu-Ray/Digital HD box set on October 12^th, 2021.

Ewan McGregor has confirmed that he will be reprising the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi for a Disney+ series centered around the iconic Jedi. While shooting is set to begin in 2020, no release date has yet been set for its premiere.

Season three of The Orville to stream exclusively on Hulu in 2020

Seth MacFarlane’s homage to Star Trek, The Orville, will make the jump from traditional television to Hulu for the show’s upcoming third season. MacFarlane explained that as the show has evolved and become more ambitious, he wouldn’t be able to deliver the third season until 2020, which was inconvenient for FOX.

DC Universe renews Young Justice and Doom Patrol

The live-action series Doom Patrol has been renewed for a second season on DC Universe, but will also simultaneously release on WarnerMedia’s forthcoming streaming service, HBO Max. Young Justice has also been renewed, with the fourth season to release exclusively on DC Universe.

Season 4 of The Expanse will premiere on December 13th

Amazon has revealed that Season 4 of The Expanse, the first since acquiring the show from Syfy, will premiere on Prime Video on December 13^th, 2019. Additionally, it was announced during the Television Critics Association summer press tour that the show has already been renewed for Season 5.

Garfield getting a new series on December 13th

Following the acquisition of Paws, Inc., the rightsholder to the beloved lasagna-eating cat, Viacom has announced that a new series surrounding the long-running comic strip character Garfield is in the works at Nickelodeon.

Originally created by Jim Davis in 1978 as a comic strip in newspapers, the orange cat has become a media phenomenon in the years since, with numerous TV series and specials being spawned featuring Lorenzo Music voicing the titular character, as well as two live-action/CGI hybrid films with Bill Murray lending his voice. While the animated series is in the works, Davis will continue to produce the syndicated comic strip.

Disney reveals Raya and the Last Dragon

Walt Disney Animation Studios has revealed their next feature film as Raya and the Last Dragon, a new story inspired by the culture of Southeast Asia and regions including Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Laos. Directed by Paul Briggs & Dean Wellins and written by Crazy Rich Asians screenwriter Adele Lim, the film stars Cassie Steele as the voice of Raya with Awkwafina voicing the dragon Sisu.

In the film, a lone warrior from the fantasy kingdom of Kumandra teams up with a crew of misfits in her quest to find the Last Dragon and bring light and unity back to their world. Raya and the Last Dragon will be released in theaters on November 26, 2020.

Let’s run down the line-up, shall we? First, the movies…

Black Widow will arrive May 1, 2020. Directed by Cate Shortland, the film stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff, David Harbour as Alexei, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Rachel Weisz as Melina, O-T Fagbenle as Mason. Taskmaster has been confirmed as the villain of the upcoming prequel.

Eternals will arrive November 6, 2020. Directed by Chloe Zhao, the film stars Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Salma Hayek as Ajax, Bryan Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will arrive February 12, 2021. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tony Leung as The Mandarin (the real one), and Awkwafina as a currently unannounced character.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will arrive May 7, 2021. Directed by Scott Derrickson, the film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch. Derrickson claims it will be the first scary MCU film, and the events of the Disney+ series WandaVision will tie directly into it

Thor: Love and Thunder will arrive November 5, 2021. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are returning as Thor and Valkyrie, with Taika Waititi once again directing. Natalie Portman will also return as Jane Foster, the female Thor.

Now, onto the series coming to Disney+…

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will arrive on Disney+ in August 2020 and sees the return of Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan. Details are still under wraps, but the series will run for 6 episodes on the streaming service.

WandaVision will arrive on Disney+ in Spring 2021 and sees the return of Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany as The Vision. Teyonah Parris joins the cast as the grown up Monica Rambeau, who appeared as an 11-year-old in Captain Marvel. Kevin Feige confirmed the events of the series take place after Avengers: Endgame.

Loki will arrive on Disney+ in Spring 2021 and sees the return of Tom Hiddlestone as Loki, the God of Mischief. However, this is the version of Loki that escaped from the past in Avengers: Endgame, so he hasn’t gone through the same growth of the Loki we’ve watched before.

What If…? will arrive on Disney+ in Summer 2021 as the MCU’s first animation. Jeffrey Wright will voice The Watcher among a huge cast of MCU actors reprising their roles. Like the comics, the animated anthology series will explore how the MCU might have unfolded if key moments in its history had not occurred as they did in canon.

Hawkeye will arrive on Disney+ in Fall 2021 and sees the return of Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye. It’s said the series will explore more of his time as Ronan. His protege Kate Bishop will also be introduced in the series, though no casting has yet been announced for that role

Aside from the announced movies and series for Phase 4, a few other tidbits were thrown into the panel.

For one, Mahershala Ali has been confirmed as the MCU’s Blade! No other details were confirmed other than the casting.

Feige also confirmed the development of several sequels on the way, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, as well as casually dropping the name of the Fantastic Four! Before he was done, he also mentioned that there was “No time left to talk about mutants.”

The Netflix original series was the second of four live-action series, including Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Luke Cage and Marvel’s Iron Fist, which all led to the teaming of the main characters in Marvel’s The Defenders. Of the four series, Marvel’s Jessica Jones took a suspenseful look into the life of Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter, who works as a private investigator while she dealt with internal and external demons.

Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.

Krysten Ritter is joined by a returning cast that includes Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse), and new cast members Janet McTeer and J.R. Ramirez, among others.

The third season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones premieres June 14 only on Netflix.

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have released a new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series. Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!

Confirmed Spider-Man: Far From Home cast members include Tom Holland as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, plus Zendaya as “MJ,” Jacob Batalon as Ned, with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. New additions include comedian J.B. Smoove and Numan Acar as Dimitri. MCU veterans Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders will also join Holland’s Spider-Man sequel as Nick Fury and Maria Hill respectively.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, all returning from Spider-Man: Homecoming. The movie will hit theaters on July 2.

Ant-Man and the Wasp Blu-ray

Exclusive extras provide an inside look at some of Marvel Comics’ most celebrated characters and the consummate, comedic actors who portray them in Ant-Man and The Wasp. Marvel Studios’ Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, reprising his Captain America: Civil War role, alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, with Forest Whitaker and, returning from Avengers: Age of Ultron, Andy Serkis.

The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nate Moore, Jeffrey Chernov, and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. Ryan Coogler & Joe Robert Cole wrote the screenplay, based on the Marvel Comics character who made his debut in 1966 during Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s epochal Fantastic Four run.

Black Panther will debut in theaters on February 16, 2018.

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

The series is executive produced by showrunner Steve Lightfoot, Jim Chory, and Jeph Loeb, who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television. Marvel’s The Punisher is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

The cast also features Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Deborah Ann Woll, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Michael Nathanson, Jaime Ray Newman, Jason R Moore, Daniel Webber, and Paul Schulze.

The highlight of the night was a surprise screening of the first episode of Marvel’s The Defenders which the 6000 fans were treated to almost a month before its global premiere on Netflix on August 18, 2017 at 12:01am PT.

Marvel’s The Defenders follows Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand/Iron Fist, a quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. The Netflix original series Marvel’s Iron Fist is the fourth of the epic live-action adventure series to premiere only on Netflix. A fifth series, Marvel’s The Punisher, has also started filming and stars Jon Bernthal.

In Marvel’s Iron Fist, billionaire Danny Rand (Finn Jones) returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

The Marvel’s Iron Fist cast includes Finn Jones as Danny Rand aka Iron Fist, with Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum. Marvel’s Jessica Jones star Carrie-Anne Moss will also reprise her role of lawyer Jeri Hogarth alongside Netflix’s connector between the shows, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.

Marvel’s Iron Fist premieres with 13 episodes on Netflix on March 17, 2017 at 12:01am PT in all territories where Netflix is available.

Imagined and created through a shared vision between the two companies, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will feature a variety of exciting and accessible single player modes and rich multi-player content for new players and longtime fans alike. In addition to single player Arcade, Training, and Mission modes, a visually stunning and immersive cinematic Story Mode will put players at the center of both universes as they battle for survival against a sinister new threat.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is being built to highlight a combination of iconic and fan favorite characters and stages from both universes, including Captain Marvel and Iron Man from the Marvel side, and Ryu and Mega Man X from Capcom. More characters, stages, modes, and features will be revealed in the coming months.

In anticipation of the new game, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is being re-released for current generation systems; with the PlayStation 4 digital download version available today and the Xbox One and Windows PC versions coming in March 2017. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for current-gen systems includes a new gallery mode, is packed with all previous DLC, and features an improved 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Looks like million dollar corporations can play nicely with each other. According to a recent post on Marvel.com, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Studios have officially reached a deal to bring Spider-Man into an upcoming Marvel title and to collaborate on the next installment of the Spider-Man films slated for July 28, 2017. Negotiations had been ongoing since December of 2014 but no official word had been released until now.

Sony Pictures has had control over the Spider-Man movie franchise since Marvel sold the film rights in the early 2000s. While Sony will still have control over the movie rights and thus have the final say regarding future film decisions, it is great to see the possibility of the Friendly Neighborhood wallcrawler swinging into what will likely be Captain America: Civil War. While Spidey served a major role in the source material, it remains to be seen what role he will play in the film adaptation.

The same can be said about other Marvel characters making official cameos or appearances in future Spider-Man films if this friendly relationship is able to thrive. To clarify, Marvel will not be receiving the rights back from Sony at this time.

At last announcement, it was unclear what exactly Sony’s plans are for the next movie in its Spider-Man franchise as both a Sinister Six and a female-centered spin-off (most likely Black Cat) have been said to be in the works as possible titles before The Amazing Spider-Man 3. It is also unclear whether or not Andrew Garfield will be reprising his role of Spider-Man in any future appearance of the character.

While there is certainly a lot of money to be made, it is nice to see what could lead to the biggest movie experience for Marvel fans ever. Could this deal put pressure on Fox to renegotiate bringing the X-Men or the Fantastic Four on screen with their Marvel superhero brethren? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Marvel’s Ant-Man has found its hero in Paul Rudd, who will star in the new film from director Edgar Wright hitting theaters July 31, 2015.

The casting of Rudd represents the actor that Marvel had long ago identified as its first choice to play Ant-Man, continuing the studio’s desire to cast actors that bring several dimensions to its onscreen heroes. The film’s plot is being kept under wraps.

“When Edgar Wright came to us with the idea of Paul Rudd, we felt a huge sense of relief because the first step in creating any Marvel Studios film is finding the right star,” said Marvel’s Kevin Feige. “We knew early on that we had found the right person in Paul. When he not only agreed to do it but became as enthusiastic as any actor we’d ever met with about doing the work, we knew we’d found the right guy. We couldn’t be more excited for our audiences to see what he’s going to do to bring Ant-Man to life.”

Rudd brings a diverse background to the role having become one of the industry’s most known actors with a reputation for smart, funny and creative performances. Rudd can currently be seen in Anchor Man 2: The Legend Continues, as well as past roles in Anchorman, This Is 40, I Love You, Man, Role Models, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Our Idiot Brother, Knocked Up, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin among numerous other films and television shows.
