Sony pulled no punches during their E3 press conference when it came to the topic of game licensing and internet connectivity. Jack Tretton, CEO of SCEA, proudly announced the following in regards to PlayStation 4:

  • There are NO RESTRICTIONS on used games.
  • Disc-based games can be traded in, lent to a friend, sold to another person, or kept forever.
  • Disc-based games do NOT need to be connected online to play or for ANY type of authentication. NO check-ins.

Finally, Sony revealed that the PlayStation 4 will be available this holiday season for $399. The system is available for pre-order right now.
