James Cameron will develop and produce a television series based on his 1994 film, True Lies, for ABC.

The original film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Harry Tasker, an everyday man leading a double life as a top-level spy. When he learns that his unknowing wife (Jamie Lee Curtis) is unsatisfied with the banality of their life together and, as a result, is planning on having an affair, Tasker accidentally pulls her into his secret battle against Middle Eastern terrorists.

Lightstorm Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV are producing with Rene Echevarria (“The 4400”) as writer/showrunner and co-executive producer. Cameron will produce the series.
Here’s to hoping Eliza Dushku reprises her role in the franchise.
