According to SuperHeroHype, the search for the female lead in the upcoming Warner Bros. movie Green Lantern will be played by Blake Lively. Lively’s credits include the hit CW series Gossip Girl as well as the movies The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and its sequel. Fanboys, please hold back your negativity. Despite perceptions of her prior work listed above, I personally thought she did a great job hosting SNL, so she must have some decent acting ability.
Lively will play the role of Carol Ferris, who hires cocky test pilot Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) to work for her father’s company, along with serving as his romantic interest. In the comics, Ferris later becomes Star Sapphire, but there is no information suggesting whether or not this will be addressed in the film. Other women rumored to have been up for the role include Keri Russell and Jennifer Garner. The movie is scheduled to start filming in March.
